Ecological Research And Application Design Of Raw Soil Cave Dwellings

The cave culture originated from the Yellow River valley,one of the cradles of Chinese civilization.As a traditional dwelling house in China,the cave dwelling is a special form of living after the constant struggle with the nature.In the song and Yuan Dynasties,cave dwelling had different classification records about cave dwelling types in history books,and reached its peak in the Ming and Qing dynasties.As an ecological cave architecture,it has high research value in modeling style,material selection and so on,taking nature,melting into nature,and warm in winter and cool in summer.With the development of the society,the cave-dwelling has been unable to satisfy the contemporary people’s higher pursuit of living conditions because of its own development restriction,which leads to the survival crisis of the existing cave-dwelling.However,the rapid development of new-type residential accommodation brings the possibility to transform the raw earth cave dwelling into residential accommodation.Based on this,this paper discusses the historical development and cultural background of the Chinese traditional Adobe Cave dwelling architecture,through field investigation and investigation,the ecological adaptability of the natural and cultural aspects of the raw soil cave-house was studied,and the ecological principles and strategies in the application and development of the raw soil cave-house architecture were summarized.Finally,taking Qikou ancient town in Linxian County,Shanxi Province as an example,under the support of the ecological design concept,adopting the method of combining theory with practice,carrying out the forward-looking design practice on the reapplication and development of the traditional adobe cave dwelling,in order to continue the vitality of the cave,to arouse people’s awareness of the protection of raw soil cave.
