As a new thing,new energy vehicles are difficult to compete with traditional fuel vehicles in cost and technology in the early stage of its birth.During its early stage of technology accumulation and market introduction,it needs the government's strong support.Major countries and regions such as China,the United States,Japan and EU member states have introduced various supporting policies to promote the technology upgrading and market promotion of new energy vehicles.In 2018,the global sales volume of new energy vehicles exceeded 2.01 million,and the cumulative sales exceeded 4 million.By the end of 2018,China has ranked first in the production and sales of new energy vehicles in the world for four consecutive years.In 2018,the cumulative sales volume of new energy vehicles reached 1.25 million,more than half of the total global sales volume.New energy vehicle is one of the most promising industries in China,which is determined as an important strategic emerging industry by the State Council.In this paper,the quantitative model of government subsidy policy is constructed to measure the subsidy coefficient,and it is found that the new energy vehicle industry in China has excessive subsidies,so the decline of subsidies in this industry is the general trend.Then this paper analyzes the efficiency of BYD government subsidies by DEA,and finds that through these years' government subsidies play a crucial role in cultivating the new energy vehicle industry.Most enterprises have basically achieved the goal of promoting new energy vehicles,reducing costs and improving technology level.BYD has occupied a considerable share of the new energy vehicle market with high market penetration through government subsidies,but the technical efficiency still lags behind the joint venture brand,which shows that BYD's government subsidy input does not make the available output reach the optimal allocation effect,does not make effective use of the resource of government subsidies,and the effect of subsidy policy is relatively low.In order to enhance the competitiveness and obtain long-term development after subsidizing and declining,China's independent brands must invest more in key technology areas,or improve the internal R & D mechanism to promote technological progress.At present,the development of new energy vehicles still faces many problems,such as immature technology,relatively high cost and so on.Therefore,even in the environment of reducing subsidies,we still hope that the state will provide a stable industrial environment for the new energy environment,avoid market ups and downs,and maintain the stability and sustainability of policies.In the process of gradual decline,we should design a reasonable alternative mechanism,form a more diversified government subsidy policy,further improve the efficiency of government subsidies,and promote the continuous innovation and development of the new energy automobile industry.
