With the improvement of the informationization and digitization of modern military,all countries are actively developing individual soldier systems for their own forces and arms.As a part of the individual soldier system,the night vision system is a weapon for the individual soldier's night battle on the future battlefield.In view of the stability,miniaturization and low power consumption of the individual night vision system,This paper designs an individual soldier's night vision goggle.First of all,combines the characteristics of various devices and the design requirements of the individual soldier night vision system,designed general planning of the individual soldier night vision system.selected the appropriate imaging device,display module,wireless transmission chip,designed the signal processing circuit,and developed the software scheme which based on FPGA to complete various image processing algorithms.Then,this paper has selected the device and made basic configuration of the FPGA.the peripheral devices are properly matched and the related circuits of these devices are designed.According to the power supply requirements of each module and chip in the circuit system,the design of the power supply part is completed.The improvement of low illumination image quality is an important part of digital night vision system.This paper analyzed the noise and gray distribution characteristics of low illumination images,implemented a medium-value alternative bilateral filtering algorithm and An algorithm which combines Retinex algorithm and gray level protection histogram theory.Experiments has shown that the improved denoising algorithm can effectively remove low illumination image noise and maintain image edge details.Image enhancement algorithm greatly improved the brightness and contrast of low illumination image,and optimized image quality.Finally,the JPEG compression method is adopted to realize the storage of important information by the soldier night vision system.Studied the principle and flow of JPEG image compression,improved the JPEG compression method by the data processing characteristics of FPGA.Experiments have shown that the compressed image is reduced by about 20 times compared to the original image.
