| The northern part of Guangxi,also a part of Linnan area,is located in Southern China,which it is a multi-ethic region where its cultural diversity and unique ethical geography are glittering like gold.Traditional local-style dwellings in northern part of Guangxi are the mirror of its local material and spiritual civilization which have witnessed the historical development and transition of traditional dwelling decoration culture.As economic society is booming,and urbanization is accelerating,traditional local-style dwellings and their culture are on the verge of extinction.Therefore,the research and protection of them are of great urgency and importance.Based on the basic condition of geography and humanistic environment and through the field survey and data collection,this thesis is going to present decorations used in traditional local-style dwellings like roof,plinth,door,window and so on with the help of iconography followed by the interpretation of those decorations' themes and meanings to uncover the connotation of humanistic spirit—man to nature,man to man and man to self.Through the gathering of the patterns of traditional local-style dwellings in nouthern part of Guangxi,the cultural diversity in history,religion and expression and the cultural regionalism in decorative structure,figure,language of color and design will be dwelt on.Last but not the least,how to protect and inherit decorative culture of traditional local style dwellings will be probed into given the analysis of current conservation status of those dwellings in nouthern part of Guangxi.The research of the traditional local style dwellings is an exploration and discovery of local culture like historical culture,custom,faith and regional culture,which is realistically and culturally significant to the study of architectural culture in nouthern part of Guangxi and is contemporarily significant to respond to the national policy of promoting countryside culture. |
