Research On The Procurement Management Of BR Company Based On Information Technology

Since long before,procurement is one of the most important work for many companies,especially for the manufacture-type ones,and it has a significant impact on cost control and business development.While the business scope is gradually rising and the competition is getting more and more intensely,the improvements of procurement management system and procurement process are paid more attention to by each companies.Recently,the rapid development of information technology offers more operation methods for many procurement management theories and ideas.It also supplies wide range of thoughts and ways for the system design?data acquiring?process passing of procurement management.BR as a high-level electrical equipment manufacturer,under the background that Chinese economic is in rapid growth and there is a continuous large scale of input for power-grid construction,got an outstanding achievement.BR's sales volume has increased almost 30 times in the last 7 years by means of persistent innovation and precision management,while the management level and quality of employees have also comprehensively improved.But the fast development and the change of outer environment,especially the intense competition,have presented higher request for BR's cost control?timely products delivery and then for the procurement management work.This paper firstly expounds the basic concepts related to procurement management,and introduces the basic concepts of several common information management system and its connection with procurement management work.Then,with BR's procurement management system and work process as the study subject,the current situation of procurement management work and the main existing problems are analyzed and the informatization construction status is also introduced.After that,based on the results of a questionnaire for BR's procurement management work,author goes deep into the several existing detailed problems and influence factor from aspects of organizational structure and job responsibility?performance assessment?inner procurement process?port process with outer companies and information system construction.According to the discovered problems,author respectively presented improvement design solutions.The core way of optimization is to upgrade the function of current information system like ERP?MIS?OA and newly add the SRM?WMS system with the help of information technology.The inter-connections of data and process of these systems are realized to systematically improve the procurement management work.The solutions studied in the paper have been partially executed in BR and achieves some good results.It may offer some valuable suggestions for the similar manufacturer-type companies to improve their procurement management.
