The Collation And Research Of "Chengshi·Guandaimen"

< General History of Chinese Women> is a reference book with documents and literatures related to ancient Chinese women specially,compiled privately by Wang Chutong,a scholar in the Qing Dynasty.This book contains 100 volumes,classified into 36 categories and 148 specific items.< Guan and Dai>,the 65 th and 66 th volumes of the book,the name of which is understood as the hats and bets of the ancients,presents plenty of the valuable documents on women's hat and belt,which is significant in the researches on the hats,clothing,and social activities of ancient women.In addition,< Guan and Dai> preserves many ancient documents scattered and disappeared long ago,and is worthy of being collated and collected.However,this book has not been compiled and studied thoroughly yet.Therefore,in this article,< Guan and Dai> is collated first,and then remarked based on its content of 65 th and 66 th volumes in the carving copy of < General History of Chinese Women>published in 1797 and embodied in < Continuation of Complete Library in the Four Branches of Literature>.The original texts in < Guan and Dai> are kept without any amendment on the errors,and the codification research on the documents in < Guan and Dai> proceeds based on the collative information.Guided by the materialist conception of history,the background of compiling < Guan and Dai> is analyzed by the means of researches on the developing status,quantity and category of the private-compiled books,the background and process of compiling <General History of Chinese Women> and so on.We also discuss the methods and features of layout,types or forms of compiled content,the ways of annotation and so on.Compared with other reference books,it presents the advantage of the stylistic rules and layout of < Guan and Dai>.After comparing in details among the documents in < Guan and Dai>,it points out the error in the original texts.Secondly,after finishing the study on its codification aspect,it continues to study on its original historical materials.The source of the ancient documents compiled in < Guan and Dai> acts as a key to analyze the features of the books cited,and the lost and reserveddocuments,to probe into the actual source of the documents cited,and to make comparisons on various documents compiled,unwanted words,missing text and incorrect record caused by modification,and so on.Once again,it discusses about the value for materials,emendations and collections of the related documents of ancient women compiled in < Guan and Dai>.After that,it studies specially on the hats and related accessories of ancient women described in < Guan and Dai>,and,based on the origin and development of the hats and related accessories of ancient women in the ancient documents,it investigates the specific hats and related accessories of ancient women presented in < Guan and Dai> to understand its shape,structure and features,contributing to study on the aesthetic taste,social activities,clothing grade,and discipline rite of ancient women.At last,it summarizes all the studies and analyze the ancient documents in <Guan and Dai> to present the philology value,shape,structure,features and discipline of ancients women's hats and related accessories.
