Research On The Container Transport Network For River-Sea Transport In Pearl River

This paper studies the river-sea coordinated transportation network for container in Pearl River system.According to the characteristics of the river,the containers are placed widespread and the destinations are relative centralization.The containers need a multistage transportation network which contains the land-receiving ports and the transit ports.To analyze the structure of the network and the operating costs,we get the optimal choice for the cost of container river-sea coordinated transportation.Firstly,the paper gives a general presentation of the natural conditions and the transportation development of the Pearl River system,getting the conclusion that the system which owns abundant natural resources and high quality waterway,the production system has been initially established.But,it also faces many problems such as underdeveloped feeder lines,the unbalanced ports distribution,the unreasonable ship type matching etc.Such problems are expected to be solved in the process of constructing the transportation network for river-sea coordinated transport.Based on the general overview of the Pearl River system,the paper studies the development model,condition,and the existed problem of the container river-sea coordinated transport.It is addressed from four aspects: container transport quantity,navigable condition of the channel,port construction and the choice of ship size.Then,to analyze the transport cost under each choice,and according to the demand,port disbursement,the supply of ship fleet capacity,the paper sets up the optimal choice model.Finally,comprehends the study conclusion,also uses the experience of river-sea coordinated from domestic and overseas,gives the suggestion to develop the inland river feeder port and the coastal transit ports,gets the solutions and measures to develop the container river-sea coordinated transportation in Pearl River system.
