Since the 20 th century,along with the development of market economy,reconstruction of business model and evolution of enterprise management,the financial management of global companies has been experiencing new challenges.How to improve financial functions and make it to be a robust supporting system of company strategy,business operations and value chain management of a company,has been a big question of all CEOs and CFOs to think deeply about.Financial shared service was starting from multinational companies,which is a new financial management model applied to cross-country enterprises.By centralizing high repetitive,comparatively more normative and standardized financial transactions,the operation cost,financial and business risks of the company have been remarkably reduced;the business efficiency and product quality of the company has also been significantly improved,therefore the business strategy of the enterprise can be effectively executed.Since 2000,the financial shared service model has becoming popular in China companies.Take S company as example,it established Shared Service Center in Wuhan in the first half of 2015,which provides both financial shared services and HR shared services to over 70 cities across China.This thesis first introduces the development trends of financial shared services and the background of the financial management model transformation of S company.And next,it describes the Six Sigma methodology and its application in the area of financial shared services.Then,a detailed analysis on the as-is management status and problems of S company Wuhan Financial Shared Service has been thoroughly conducted,afterwards the implementation approach of promoting Six Sigma in an organization has been introduced.More importantly,this thesis expatiates the whole application of Six Sigma DMAIC model via studying on a real business case,define the problem,dig out the root causes,work out the solutions,monitor the implementation and control the results,and come out the potential of continuous improvement.In the end,the thesis provides some opinions and suggestions on shared service theory by concluding lesson learned from promotion process of Six Sigma in financial shared service area,which offers useful references to continuous improvement and further development of S company Wuhan Financial Shared Service Center.
