With economic globalization,intra-product division and trade, namely the production and trade of intermediate products, have gradually emerging, leading to the problem of value duplication. Moreover, under the intra-product trade,a country's export scale and export industry structure cannot accurately measure the country's discourse power in the international trading system, thus new indicators are needed to measure a country's profitability. The international trade value-added accounting system based on the world input-output tables measures the export scale of a country by value-added,and solves double-counting problem. At the same time,by using the domestic indirect value-added and foreign value-added,it calculates GVC participations to measure the international division status, resolving the drawbacks of the previous division of labor status indicators.Based on the international trade value-added accounting system, this paper uses the TiVA database to re-evaluate the export scale of China's manufacturing industry and service industry from 1995 to 2011.It is found that the scale of Chinese manufacturing exports is seriously overestimated and the scale of service exports is seriously underestimated.Using the decomposed domestic indirect value-added exports and foreign value-added to calculate the global value chain participations of China and other major economies in the world, concluding manufacturing industry and service industry from 1995 to 2011,we come to the following conclusions: firstly, the status of China's manufacturing industry goes downstream and then upstream, and is still at the low side of the value chains;secondly, international division status of service industry in China does not show competitive advantage and is behind other economies;thirdly, the developed economies enjoy the higher status in manufacturing industry, while without obvious advantage compared to developing economies in service industry.Based on the static panel models,we explore the impact of internal and external factors, such as technological innovation, human capital, material capital,FDI,financial service environment and market environment,on the status of international division of labor,it turns out that the impacts of the above factors on the international division status vary due to the differences of industries and economic development level.
