Research On The Measurement Of China’s Global Value Chains Status

With the rapid development of science and technology revolution and industrial revolution,the global value chain has been deepened and reshaped.China is integrated into the global value chain.According to the traditional trade accounting data,China has become the biggest exporter in the world,but the traditional trade statistics system of export products are all value statistics in the value chain of the last link,apparently overestimate Chinese real gains from trade,can not reflect the China position in the global value chain.Therefore,it is necessary in order to measure China’s position in the global value chain from the point of view of value added trade,and to explore China’s real trade gains.Based on the OECD-WTO in October 2015,jointly issued the trade value data(TiVA),using GVC index and GVC in comprehensive evaluation index China overall status,status of Chinese manufacturing and service industry in the global value chain and the horizontal and vertical comparison.The study found that China overall integration into the global value chain of higher degree,since 2008 the overall GVC Chinese participation index were in the first place in 61 countries,but a higher degree of participation did not make China get higher the position in the global value chain,the overall GVC index in 2011 Chinese position ranks twenty-fourth in global value chain in the low-end links the.With the deepening of China’s integration into the global value chain and the gradual accumulation of capital,talent and technology,China’s global value chain has a rising trend.In the manufacturing sector,China’s manufacturing sector GVC participation in the forefront of the 61 countries,but the manufacturing GVC index,in the top twenty-seventh,is still located in the global value chain in the low-end position.In the manufacturing industry,Chinese labor-intensive manufacturing industry in the global value chain in the high-end,but the capital intensive manufacturing industry and knowledge intensive manufacturing industry in the global value chain position far from developed countries,in the global value chain in the low-end.In the service industry,service industry Chinese degree of integration of the global value chain is deepening,has been greatly improved in GVC status index level,the public service industry GVC status index was the highest,followed by the consumer service industry,producer service industry GVC index and the lowest position.According to the above results,this paper puts forward the corresponding policy recommendations from the aspects of innovation driven,optimizing the trade structure of the manufacturing industry,increasing the opening of the service industry,and promoting the service industry.
