The Yangtze River economic belt is a major regional development strategy of China in the new era.The Yangtze River economic belt is of great significance for promoting the steady growth of China's economy and promoting the transformation and upgrading of industrial structure; The manufacturing industry is the basic industry to support the economic growth of China, and it also takes the responsibility of promoting the transformation of the industrial structure. Therefore, the scientific analysis of the development of the spatial pattern of the manufacturing industry of the Yangtze River economic belt is of great practical significance to optimizing the spatial layout of the manufacturing industry.Firstly, the study discussed the background of the topic and the current research status at home and abroad, and the important concepts involved were defined and combed the theoretical basis of the development of the industrial spatial pattern;Secondly,a systematic descriptive analysis of the development status of the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River was made.Thirdly,by measuring location entropy index and industry concentration, the study analyzed the development characteristics and trend of the spatial pattern of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt in the past 2004-2015 years, including the whole manufacturing industry, subdivided industries, and resource intensive manufacturing, labor intensive manufacturing and capital intensive manufacturing; Then, with the help of GIS and GeoDa spatial econometric analysis software, the spatial autocorrelation of the three types of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt in2004,2010 and 2015 and the formation and development of cold hot spots were discussed.the following conclusions were drawn:(1)In general, the spatial layout of the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River economic belt shows the "center-periphery" structure, which is the core of the following areas;(2)From the point of view of the sub industry, the downstream area is still a concentrated area of capital intensive manufacturing, especially for special equipment, general equipment manufacturing and so on,but the concentration of resource intensive and labor-intensive manufacturing industry has decreased obviously. The concentration of labor intensive manufacturing industry in the middle reaches is getting higher and higher and has become the main concentration area of the Yangtze River economic belt, but the capital intensive manufacturing industry is still low.The resource intensive manufacturing industry in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River occupies an absolute dominant position in the Yangtze River economic belt, especially in Yunnan's tobacco and the beverage industry in Guizhou. At the same time,Chongqing's capital intensive manufacturing agglomeration has a large trend of change and now it is the main distribution area of the Yangtze River economic belt, especially the transportation equipment manufacturing industry;(3)the distribution of the three types of manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River economic belt is spatially related, and geographical factors play an important role in the evolution of manufacturing spatial distribution.According to the analysis and research conclusions of the previous article and in view of the present situation of the spatial distribution of the manufacturing industry in the Yangtze River Economic Zone, the study put forward reasonable proposals for the development of comparative advantage industry in the upper and middle reaches, upgrading transportation conditions and scientifically guiding the orderly transfer of industries and division and cooperation.
