Land use transformation is a kind of LUCC research method, which integrates the time scale of social and environmental change and historical background. It was introduced into China around 2000 and has been widely concerned by academic circles, and has been continuously combined with the practical problems of land management in China. At present, our country enters the new normal of economic development and a new stage of land use, which land engine no longer exists. In this new stage, the mode of land resource management needs to be changed from simple quantity management to quantity, quality and ecology management, and from simple resource management to integrated management of resources, assets and capital. It needs the support of the study of recessive transformation of land use, which is in sharp contrast with the lag of the current research of recessive transformation. In view of this, this paper integrates the multiple attributes of recessive form based on the national scale, and studies the problems related to the recessive transformation of interprovincial land use in China from a comprehensive perspective.Following this way of phenomenological description, mechanism explanation, propose hypothesis and scientific regulation,we rely on the research methods of literature research, theoretical and empirical research, qualitative and quantitative research.Using the method of linear weighting, exploratory spatial analysis, geographical weighted regression model and horizontal comparison, this paper talks about the spatial-temporal pattern of recessive forms of land use,the driving mechanism of recessive transformation, the law of recessive transformation and the choose of regional recessive transition pathway. The research on the spatial and temporal pattern of recessive form of land use is based on the representation of recessive form of land use.The research shows that the transformation process of the recessive form of land use in China coincides with the stage of economic and social development, and the recessive form of each region continues to improve, but the overall growth rate slows down. The law of recessive form is obvious in the spatial pattern, showing the trend of decreasing from southeast to northwest, and forming the phenomenon of aggregation in the local area. From two aspects, theoretical analysis and quantitative study, the study of driving force of recessive transformation talks about the effect of natural system, economic system and management system. This study shows that natural factors play a fundamental role and act in a indirect way, while economic and social factors play a more direct role.Population growth, industrial transformation, economic development, location improvement and technological progress are all closely related to recessive transformation, and the direction and rate of recessive transformation are also restricted by the comprehensive role of various policies and systems. In turn, the process and results of the transformation promote institutional changes. In addition, the impact of land use engineering on the recessive transformation is becoming more and more important.Through the empirical summary of the pattern and driving mechanism of recessive transformation, based on the thinking of horizontal comparison, the author puts forward the hypothesis of recessive transformation of land use. This hypothesis holds that the recessive transformation of land use is a nonlinear law, which is the result of the interaction between stages and periodicity. The recessive transformation of land use is generally composed of several stages, each of which is characterized by "S-type" evolution. The transition in the transition stage is based on the land recessive conflict between supply and demand. In the end,the paper discusses the stage and path choice of land use transformation in China.
