Compensation is an important means for organizations to mobilize the enthusiasm and creativity of employees.The construction of a fair and reasonable remuneration system and improvement of remuneration effectiveness are important tasks of human resources management.Pay for performance plays an important role in motivating employees as well as an important part in modern management.Thus,pay for performance has been widely concerned and discussed in the academic and practical circles.Since the reform and opening-up,great changes have taken place in the management system of state-owned enterprises in China.Most of the state-owned enterprises have established the modern enterprise system,and the salary system of employees has also undergone great changes.But human resource management,especially salary management is still a weak link in the management of state-owned enterprises.Thus,there is a great practical significance to study employees' pay for performance perceptions.Based on the theory of fairness and expectation to explore the effect of pay for performance perceptions on the work engagement.Through the empirical study of 300 valid samples from state-owned enterprises,the conclusions are as follows:(1)As a whole,the level of pay for performance perceptions in state-owned enterprises are relatively high,and the salary satisfaction are at a upper middle level,and the level of work engagement are medium.(2)The study proves that the there are positive relationship between pay for performance and the salary satisfaction,the pay for performance and work engagement,the salary satisfaction and work engagement.What's more,this study found that the salary satisfaction plays a mediating role between pay for performance and work engagement.This study enriched the research field of pay for performance and provided suggestions for state-owned enterprise managers to do a good job in human resource management.
