The industrial transformation and upgrading of post-manufactured enterprises in China are facing the challenge of losing their cost advantages and turning manufacturing industries in developed countries.Latecomers can catch up and overturn the incumbent companies,which are the hot research topics in theory and industry.Subversion innovation,as the primary strategy for latecomer firms to catch up,has attracted much attention.The essence of enterprises catching up with development is manifested in the subversive upgrading the value chain.In the process of latecomer companies catching up,there are some problems existing,such as ambiguous market breakthrough strategies and insufficient preparation of strategies.Cooperative companies stick to the upstream and downstream division of labor in the value chain,and it is difficult to set a unified goal from the whole value path.Moreover,the current industry value theory lacks the exploration of the operating mechanism of the enterprise development and upgrade path,especially for the latecomer manufacturing enterprises,it needs to further study the formation of the industrial value path in the background of latecomer enterprises.Firstly,it summarizes and analyzes the related research of the industrial value path,combs the research characteristics of enterprise value path at home and abroad;and it focuses on the concept of subversive innovation and systematically researches on market,technology and enterprise competition,but rarely analyzes from the perspective of industrial value in-depth.In theory,the characteristics of subversive innovation are combined from the industrial level to study the formation of value path.Secondly,in the industrial level,it will be summed up a series of concepts and categories,which combines the multi-case study with the method of grounded theoretical analysis,and selects typical manufacturing latecomer enterprises with subversive background of innovation.Through the analysis of programmatic grounded theory,Geely Group,Huawei Technologies,and Zhengzhou Coal Machinery Co.,Ltd.were used as sample cases.Finally,the industrial value path for manufacturing subordinate enterprises to achieve subversive innovation is constructed.It not only elaborated on the different path stages of “primary production—monomer production—diversified production—capital operation” in which the latecomers overtake the surging upgrade,but also revealed that latecomers combined vertical scale and horizontal extension correlations,in order to achieve the mechanism of subversion.It provides a theoretical reference for the innovative development of China's manufacturing enterprises.
