With deepening economic globalization and rapid development of technology, division of labor has been transformed from Intra-industry Division to Products Division;multinational corporations in developed countries have separated and reconstruct each link of production, thus constructing a global value chain,in which Chinese enterprises "insert" or are "inserted".Each link in the global value chain holds different added value:multinational corporations in developed countries, boasting a technological and brand-marketing edge, occupy strategic link of higher added value, while Chinese enterprises participate in manufacturing link of lower added value, with low labor cost and policy benefit. In the early phase of participating in the global value chain,Chinese enterprises embrace a technology spillover effect from developed countries;nevertheless,a further participation may result in a risk of being "stuck" at the lower end of value chain. In that case,to strengthen the capacity for independent innovation is vital for Chinese enterprises to upgrade their position in the global value chain. The core of national development strategy, therefore,is how to strengthen the capacity for independent innovation in the global value chain, which is also the prerequisite to advance the technology and economy of China in the future.Combining statistics description and evidence analysis, this thesis gives a deep insight into the influential elements of independent innovation of domestic enterprises;how GVC participating extent influence independent innovation and the influence of market competition, property right, absorptive capacity and technology gap on innovation spillover effect of vertical specialization in the global value chain of different driving force. With firm evidence, this thesis demonstrates that participating in the global value chain still has an apparent positive stimulation on independent innovation;exporting,FDI level and backward overflow have an apparent inhibitory effect;FDI forward overflow has an apparent promotion on independent innovation. When the market structure is more intensive, the percentage of state-owned economy is lower, its absorptive capacity is stronger and technology gap is larger, vertical specialization has a more apparent promotion on independent innovation. From the comparison of low level technical trade and middle/high level technical trade, vertical disintegration and FDI horizontal overflow have a more apparent impact on trade innovation.Nevertheless, exporting only has an apparent inhibitory effect on independent innovation of low level technical trade;FDI forward overflow can only stimulate the innovation and upgrading of low level technical trade;FDI backward overflow only has a negative influence on independent innovation of middle/high level technical trade. The innovation of this thesis lies in providing updated evidence for the study of independent innovation of enterprises in the global value chain, testifying vertical specialization still has an apparent positive relation with the independent innovation.Besides, the thesis, based on the level of technology, categorizes and studies different trades, compares the different influence of enterprises embedment GVC on independent innovation under different technology levels.
