With the development of the network and its extensive application in various fields,the number of devices connected to the network has continued to increase,and network traffic has grown exponentially,resulting in huge network energy consumption and annual growth.Therefore,improving the efficiency of network energy consumption and reducing network energy consumption are of great significance for energy saving and emission reduction and reducing network operation costs.At the same time,the types of new network applications and services are also increasing,generating a large number of flows with business characteristics.The network needs to allocate network resources reasonably for them according to their characteristics,perform different processing,and ensure their respective requirements about Service of Quality(QoS).The development and application of Software Defined Network(SDN)have brought new ideas to solve these two problems.As the"brain" of the SDN network,the SDN controller centrally manages the network,and can reasonably allocate resources in combination with the global state of the network.It can flexibly calculate routing paths for flows based on the real-time status of the network,regulate its distribution in space and time level of the network,thereby achieving the goal of energy saving,and further achieve QoS guarantee on this basis.Most of the current research on network-level energy-saving technologies focuses on aggregating traffic on the calculated minimum working topology and sleeping idle links to reduce the fixed energy consumption of the network.This type of method has a good energy saving effect in theory,but the calculation of the minimum working topology and the process of switching the topology are relatively complicated,and it is difficult to deal with the data center network with large amount of burst flows.This paper assumes that the current working topology has been adjusted appropriately,and proposes a time-limited energy-saving flow routing and scheduling method(EEDFSR).This method implements further energy-efficient routing and scheduling for the current working topology,and achieves the goal of reducing network dynamic energy consumption by controlling the distribution of the flow in space and time.Then,on the basis of energy saving,QoS considerations for different types of business flows are added.This paper proposes an energy-saving QoS routing method(EEQRM).Various business flows are abstracted into ordinary data flows and data flows with QoS requirements.For ordinary data streams,the energy-saving routing method adopted,namely the EEDFSR method,finds its way.For flows with QoS requirements,based on the measurement results of network available resources,performance parameters and other information,this method uses QoS indicators such as bandwidth,delay and packet loss rate as pathfinding constraints,while taking into account the increase of dynamic network energy consumption in the pathfinding process.The method can select the energy-saving path satisfying the QoS requirements at a faster speed,and achieve the purpose of taking into account both QoS and energy-saving.This paper proves the feasibility and effectiveness of the above methods in reducing dynamic network energy consumption and guaranteeing QoS through experiments.
