Research On Visual Display Design Of Meta-information Constrained By Display Clutter

In the interface of complex information system,the decision-making ability of users depends fundamentally not only on the understanding of relevant information in the task field,but also on the attributes of information itself.At present,the research on meta-information visual display design method,the definition and evaluation methods of display clutter are not yet mature.The purpose of this paper is to cross-study the display clutter and meta-information visual display design,and explore the meta-information visual display design constrained by the degree of display clutterFirstly,this paper summarizes the related research on meta-information and display clutter,and summarizes the definition of display clutter from two aspects:display-based and user-based.The definition of display clutter is task performance reduction and attention cost increase due to the interaction of high information density,unreasonable layout and irrelevant information.This paper summarizes the current technologies that can be used in the evaluation of display clutterSecondly,the concept of meta-information is defined.Meta-information is the characteristics or attributes of information affecting users'information processing,situational awareness and decision-making behavior.Starting from the most common meta-information-uncertainty,this paper studies the definition,classification and source of uncertainty,and summarizes the design method of uncertainty visual display Experiments verify the misunderstanding of user perception caused by unreasonable uncertain visual display design methods.Then,on the basis of existing scholar's research,the constraint criteria of interface confusion are put forward and introduced.A meta-information design method based on these constraints is proposed.The disadvantages and limitations of each method are introduced and analyzed in detail.Finally,an example of meta-information visual display design method constrained by chaos degree is providedFinally,based on the existing Typhoon Forecasting system,the interface elements,information elements and design points affecting the confusion of the existing Typhoon Forecasting system are analyzed.A new and optimized design is made for the visual display of meta-information in the interface,and the rationality of the visual display design of meta-information constrained by the confusion degree is verified by the improved design evaluation.
