Research On Lanzhou Postal Newsstand From The Perspective Of Urban Space

In recent years,the development of domestic newsstand is difficult,the former busy street newsstand from our vision away.Besides selling newspapers,do newsstands have other functions in urban space? Is there a need for newsstands to continue to exist in the face of a sharp decline in newspaper reading?Ethnographic research methods,this article USES ChengGuan district of Lanzhou city QiLiHe district and postal newsstand in the fieldwork,through field visits,postal newsstand in Lanzhou city TingZhu interview,readers,managers,and practice of newsstand participant observation,by using the method of anthropology and sociology,from the perspective of urban space to discuss the value of the postal kiosks and meaning.With the help of the interdisciplinary research results of the "spatial shift" in western academic circles,the communication scholars have discovered the spatial shift of media and its research,and proposed that both space and media are closely related to social relations in nature.This paper takes the relationship formed by the newsstand as the starting point,studies the space planning,space management,space extension,space reconstruction,as well as the practical activities and social relations involved in the postal newsstand,explains the factors that influence the space change,and presents the different relationships carried by the newsstand from multiple perspectives.This study discusses the complex relationship among people,newsstand and city through the spatial evolution of the physical building newsstand.The study found that the newsstand is not only a small building in the urban space,but also a node of information flow,an intermediate station for the exchange of goods,a bond of mutual trust between people,and an intermediary for the integration of people and the city.The spatial change of newsstand is the result of the interaction of various elements such as policy and technology.As a medium,it connects the unique relationship between people,people and cities.The newsstand carries the collective memory of several generations of people in the city,embodies the reading ecology of the city,is the public space of urban life,and is the physical place where the city improves the communication.Newsstand has irreplaceable unique value in urban development.
