Research On The Demand Of Research Data Service Of University Library Based On The User's Perspective

The arrival of the era of big data and the massive output of research data promote the transformation of scientific paradigm to data intensive research paradigm.With the development of intensive scientific research,the demand of researchers for research data is growing day by day.As the main base of scientific research,colleges and universities put forward new requirements for the service mode of libraries.The library should carry out the targeted data service content and promote the service transformation of the library.At present,the research on university research data management and service is constantly emerging.Scholars at home and abroad analyze the theoretical progress and practical status of research data service through multi-dimensional.However,the research of early data service rarely focuses on user needs,and most of the research methods are subjective methods such as questionnaire survey and network survey,which can not fully mine the actual data needs of scientific research users,and the research results are not objective and comprehensive.Therefore,this paper adheres to the research orientation of user data requirements,trying to mine the data requirements of scientific research users from different perspectives such as data life cycle,scenarios,disciplines,etc.On this basis,In this paper,I interviewed 46 graduate students,teachers and researchers,and makes statistical analysis of the survey results through coding methods and NVivo software.Research found that:(1)In the aspect of data awareness,scientific research users have a high awareness of data awareness,and various disciplines have begun to attach importance to the value of data.(2)In terms of data discovery and acquisition,the main data acquisition channels for scientific research users are database,questionnaire,interview,network acquisition,laboratory experiment,calculation process,etc.Among them,the data acquisition path mainly includes literature database,professional database and industry website.(3)In terms of data processing and analysis,the common tools used by scientific research users are mainly data statistics and analysis tools,data visualization and analysis tools,drawing tools,etc.in addition,some special data processing tools in disciplines will be used.(4)In terms of data storage and backup,researchers often use a variety of data storage methods,mainlyincluding local storage,U disk,hard disk,cloud disk,database and other ways,while senior researchers will use servers to store data,of which less than half are willing to upload data to the public data management platform.(5)In the aspect of data opening and sharing,most users of scientific research are willing to open research data after the completion of scientific research.However,due to the limitations of data itself or the need for further research,data sharing still has great obstacles.Of course,the research also found that there are some difficulties in data discovery and acquisition,data processing and analysis,which hinder the progress of scientific research.Finally,it summarizes the data service needs and relevant suggestions of scientific research users,and integrates the research results.Based on the current situation of data service in university library,it puts forward strategies and suggestions to improve the research data service in University.
