The estimation for Angle of Arrival(AOA)has important practical value in the reconstruction of the original received signal and the location estimation.It is also widely used in the fields of radar,sonar,aerospace and military reconnaissance as well as intelligent life in the new time.The future is the era of iot,artificial intelligence,and robots,servo robot can keep the accuracy of target range and then continue to follow the target,such as any heavy handling and transportation on follow the target,not only can reduce the consumption of resources,but also can reduce the personal risk in the process of transportation.The research on AOA estimation in this paper is mainly applied to point-to-point tracking systems in complex environments,in view of the characteristics of ultra-wide Band(UWB)signal with strong anti-multipath interference ability and high Angle resolution,UWB signal is selected as the basic signal to achieve AOA estimation.This paper firstly summarizes the application background of AOA estimation,the advantages of using UWB signals for AOA estimation and the relevant theoretical basis.Then,starting from the AOA estimation of narrowband signals,it studies the AOA estimation method of UWB signals.Multiple Signal Classification(MUSIC)algorithm is selected as the basic algorithm,an AOA estimation scheme based on Time of Arrival(TOA)and an AOA estimation scheme based on Phase Difference of Arrival(PDOA)are proposed.The feasibility of the scheme is verified by simulation,through the comparative analysis to select a good plan namely PDOA + AOA estimation,in view of the deficiency in this plan,for example,how to improve the estimation accuracy without increasing the number of receiving antennas and how to improve the performance of the scheme under the condition of low SNR are studied and analyzed.Finally,multiple Input Multiple Output(MIMO)technology is used in the study of PDOA + AOA scheme optimization,the theoretical basis of incresing the Angle resolution of MIMO technology is introduced,an optimization scheme is designed in this paper.The simulation results show that the MIMO technology used in PDOA+AOA estimation scheme not only solves the above problems,but also realizes the bidirectional Angle estimation,which is more conducive to the realization of the co-tracking system.
