The MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) communication system has large potential channel capability, which attracts wide concentration in recent years. The future mobile wireless communication system must satisfy the increasing transfer capability requirement. However, the performance of MIMO communication system largely depends on the decadency characteristics of wireless channel. The parameters which express the channel characteristics include:coherent time delay, azimuth, Doppler frequency and polarization parameters, etc. To enhance the performance of the wireless communication and ensure the efficiency signal propagation, we need effective algorithm to estimate the parameters rapidly and accurately. So it is important to study the parameter estimation for multiple paths signal in wireless communication systems.This paper focuses on several kinds of high resolution channel estimation methods under the premise of MIMO wireless propagation channel. They can be classified to three categories:spectral estimation, parametric subspace-based estimation, and deterministic parameter estimation. The main content of the paper is as follows:(1) Introduce the basic characteristics of MIMO wireless decline channel and discuss the meaning of parameters estimation for multiple signals.(2) Discuss and research the current types of algorithms of parameter estimation, and list their strengths and drawbacks, then make theorial comparison.(3) Introduce the system structure and model of spectrum estimation,and research the currently important MUSIC algorithm:classical MUSIC,Root MUSIC,Fourth Order MUSIC bidirectional smoothness MUSIC and Toeplitz MUSIC,then realize the DOA estimation through MATLAB software.(4) After implement of classical MUSIC,Root MUSIC,Fourth Order MUSIC,bidirectional smoothness MUSIC and Toeplitz MUSIC,make comparison five algorithms'performance under different assumings.
