Analysis On The Issue Construction Of Drug Problem Report In Domestic Newspapers

In the contemporary environment,the main way to understand the drug problem is through the mass media.How the media construct the drug use topic? What directly affects the public's understanding of the drug use problems? Among the mass media,the in-depth reports,the content dissemination of rational newspaper media have a specially important role in influencing the public's cognition and attitude towards drug addicts and drug abuse behavior.Therefore,it is of practical significance to study the media construction of drug abuse problems and the group characteristics of drug addicts.The position of this study is to improve the public's social care for the reformed drug addicts from the spiritual or psychological level without affecting the public's perception of the danger of "drugs",so as to play a certain role in reducing the relapse rate.This study mainly focused on the characteristics of drug abuse reports and the image of drug addicts in the sample newspapers.This study uses frame theory as research theory,selecting 500 articles from the reports of domestic newspaper media on drug abuse from 1999 to 2018 as research samples by equidistant sampling with the method of content analysis and analysis.Four research problems are surveyed in this study: how to construct drug abuse problem,how to present the images of drug addicts,what is the deficiency of the newspaper reports,and how to improve it.This paper includes four parts:Part one is the introduction,the significance of this study is presented by analyzing the background of drug abuse problem and the research status quo.At the same time,the research questions,research methods and research theories is clarified in this part.In the second part,the 500 selected newspaper news articles on the drug use are used as valid samples,and content analysis is used to sort out and analyze the report quantity,report source,report themes,report tone and other aspects respectively from the macro,medium and micro levels.In the third part,the images of drug addicts reported in the newspapers are analyzed from the aspects of gender,region,cultural level,etc.,and summarizes the group characteristics of drug users and the reasons for drug use.In the fourth part,the factors influencing the reporting framework on drug use over the years are explored.On this basis,a series of problems in drug abuse reports are presented and constructive suggestions for improvement are put forward.The study found the structural characteristics of drug use reports and the demographic characteristics of drug use groups,which helped society to understand the causes of drug use and the group of drug use,and played a better understanding and warning role in better drug elimination.The results show that the media's coverage of drug abuse is diversified,the number of reports is also influenced by the interaction of the factors of policy and market;the source of information gradually breaks through standardization,drug addicts gradually gain the right to speak;negative reports are centralized before 2008,then they are turing to be neutral and objective after 2008 with more care framework reports appeared;and “patient”,“victim” identity gradually have been highlighted.In addition,the group of drug addicts is mainly young people and middle-aged people with low education level,mostly concentrated in the eastern areas of China.The reason for their first drug use was mostly curiosity and ignorance,which was greatly affected by the surrounding environment.Most people used drugs for the first time because of curiosity and ignorance,and the most important reason for the high relapse rate was the negative labelling of drug users.In short,drug reports is influenced by national policy,socio-economic,media literacy and other factors,but it is difficult to avoid the deficiencies in the focus and mode of the report.There is therefore a need to ensure that reports of drug addicts are comprehensive so that they gradually increase their self-confidence in abstinence and social reintegration.To ensure the objectivity of reporting on drug abuse and avoid linking in general terms the negative consequences of drug users to their drug use,it is necessary to do a good job of drug prevention knowledge publicity so as to help the audience stay away from drugs while enhancing drug addicts' self-confidence to quit drug addiction and reduce relapse rate.
