A Narratological Study On Nonfiction Writing On The New Media Platform

In recent years,there are more and more media and institutions specializing in the production of nonfiction works.In the era of short reading,nonfiction writing not only goes against it,but also has a strong development momentum year by year.The purpose of this dissertation is to study how this kind of works breaks through the encirclement with its narrative power.In this dissertation,17 reports are selected as samples from seven media,i.e."Jiri studio","PAIKE workshop","characters","GQ report","real story plan","Guyu laboratory" and "story hardcore".From the view of narratology theory,the narrative behavior and narrative strategy of these reports are discussed by using text analysis method.Structurally,this dissertation first explains the concept of nonfiction writing,combs its development context,introduces the seven major nonfiction media samples,so as to have a macro grasp of nonfiction writing.Then from the perspective of narrative theme,this dissertation explores the writing of nonfiction,through the study of the theme,to understand the topic selection tendency of current nonfiction.The last part is the narrative analysis of the specific text,from the narrator and narrative perspective,narrative time and narrative structure to understand how the nonfictional writers learn from the writing skills of literature to achieve the aim in the readability of the text.This dissertation finds that: first,the characters and the times are the two narrative themes of nonfiction writing.Focusing on these two themes,the nonfiction writers focus on the individual destiny,the group image,the hot spots of the times and the city image,etc.,and further expand the five elements of traditional news value in the topic selection,trying to grasp the pulse of the times and society in depth and carefully;Second,the theory of narratology is fully applicable to the analysis of nonfiction texts,but there are subtle differences between fictional and non-fictional texts in narrator,narrative perspective and narrative structure;for example,journalists always act as the first narrator,zero focus perspective does not exist in non fictional texts,and nonfiction writing often begins with flashback in narrative structure.Nonfiction writing is a new product of new media platform.This dissertation hopes to provide some inspiration for the current news writing and some reference for related nonfiction research.
