Each innovation in the medium brings about profound structural changes in the domain of knowledge.The Internet medium also impact the production and form of knowledge.Knowledge Payment which is new knowledge pattern in the Internet knowledge production,creates huge gains and media spectacle,has changed the public perception that information on the Internet is free,and returns the value of knowledge in the Internet to knowledge and knowledge product itself.Knowledge Payment has also spurred publishing industry that is changing from traditional one to digital.The Internet audio knowledge paid products represents Knowledge Payment.From these products,we could get a clear view of the complicated knowledge production pattern.Different from previous researches in this field,which are mainly case studies,this study that focuses on the top 50 Knowledge Payment products in the Xinzhibang ranking list(2017-2019),and adopt the methods of documentation,quantitative analysis,case study and comparison,makes a thorough study of the production characteristics of the Internet audio knowledge paid products from three aspects——the subjects of production,production pattern,and content and form of products.This study is not only a diachronic study of Knowledge Payment,but also a consensus study of the publishing industry which is closely related to Knowledge Payment.The findings are briefly summarized as follows: first,From the perspective of the subjects of production,the intellectual elites who graduate from key university and hold the professorship,control the discourse of produced knowledge power;Different size platforms enhance Knowledge Payment industry strength.Secondly,from the perspective of production pattern,PGC,PUGC,MCN are leading the production mode of the Internet audio knowledge paid products,which are similar to the publishing mode.However,as capital comes in,the logic of knowledge production is from “cultural logic” to “commercial logic”.Thirdly,from the perspective of knowledge characteristics,the knowledge categories of Humanities & Social Science,Commerce & Finance,and Parent-child are most popular.And Knowledge Payment products transmit knowledge through sound media in the form of audio.Audio,as the medium of knowledge,makes knowledge production more open and professional because of the existence of the telling.Based on the production characteristics,the Internet audio knowledge paid products capture the market of Trade Publishing.However,the production paradigm of knowledge paid products have shortcomings so that how to balance the commercial and cultural nature of knowledge will be the key to development.The purpose of the study not only hopes to provide reference for the production practice of knowledge,but also hopes to make the public have some understanding of knowledge production,then learn “How to consume knowledge rationally”.
