Residents' Perceived Impacts Of Coverage In Large-scale Sport Events

Large amounts of resources is required for hosting large-scale sport events.It's hard to break even from event operations in the short run.The pursuit of social benefits has become the realistic goal for organizers.Social benefits directly affect residents' perception,and the main way that residents perceive mega-events is through media reports.Enhancing the social benefits of mega-events requires understanding the level of perception of residents and increasing the influence of media coverage.At present,on the topic of Media coverage,domestic related research mainly focused on the characteristics and planning idea of the report,studies on communication effects are rare.This thesis aimed to investigate the residents' perceived impact of large-scale sport events,and analyzed the effectiveness of media coverage,and put forward suggestions for improving the impact of reporting in the context of social media based on agenda setting theory.This study has accomplished the following work: 1)based on related research at home and abroad,a questionnaire was designed to measure residents' perception of the Wuhan Military Games;2)a questionnaire survey was conducted among 210 residents of Hubei Province on the perception of the Wuhan Military Games;3)data of report from Wechat Official Account was collected and compiled;4)T test and ANOVA were used to verify and explore the impact of media coverage.This study is divided into five parts.The first part is the introduction,which defines the related concepts,and elaborates the research background,research status,research purpose and research content.The second part is the research design,the author puts forward the research hypothesis,explains the research method and the questionnaire design steps.The third part is the research process and results,it records the data collection process and describes the results.The fourth part is the discussion,which validates the research hypothesis and discusses the content of the report.The fifth part is the conclusion and summarizes the full text.
