The arrival of big data era has brought us unlimited opportunities,but also brought great challenges to big data designers and engineers in the visualization field in recent years.While there is a large body of existing research focused on developing new tools and techniques that are aimed at specific contexts,less focus has been placed on user cognition and interaction.At present,there is no systematic theory of interaction framework to guide interaction design,and few researches focus on the thinking process and strategy principles of designers in interaction design.In view of the limitations of the existing research,this paper presents a general and conceptual interaction framework based on user cognition.The framework is composed of a number of conceptual elements that can aid in design thinking—consisting of interaction hierarchy,man-machine coupling model,interaction taxonomy and elements.This interaction framework can provide common terms,which is very instructive to the visual interactive design involving huge and high-dimensional information and complex cognitive activities in the background of big-data.The main contents and innovations of this paper are as follows:(1)The study characterizes the human-data discourse mediated by visualization tools at four levels of granularity: events,actions,tasks,and cognitive activities.(2)The study expounds the structure of the human-data cognitive system,which is categorized into four spaces: mental space,representation space,interactive space and computing space,and then puts forward the interaction coupling model in big-data visualization and the factors that influence the coupling quality.In interactive space,this paper systematically summarizes the types of interaction in typical big-data visualization,and analyzes their cognitive utility and how they influence and support the user' cognitive process.In addition,the interactive elements are proposed from the two angles of user input and interface output.(3)The method of interaction pattern construction is put forward.This method is based on interactive hierarchy,which is constructed from top to bottom from high level to low level.The 4-stage construction process places the patterns at the core of designers' thinking.Each stage has corresponding elements in the interaction framework as a reference to help designers think systematically.(4)The evaluation method of mapping between interface evaluation dimension and eye movement index is put forward.A set of global disease data is selected to construct interactive pattern,and a visual solution with high interaction coupling quality is put forward.Then the specific eye movement tracking performance experiment is carried out.The feasibility of the interactive pattern construction method is verified,and the significant eye movement index of the evaluation dimension is put forward.
