With the continuous iterative update of semiconductor technology and the rapid development of fifth-generation communication technology and artificial intelligence,the richness of the functions of portable electronic products has led to an increase in power demand,in order to maintain a long battery life,the use of converters with high energy conversion efficiency has become an inevitable choice for people.This thesis mainly studies and designs a high efficiency BUCK converter with fast transient response.Therefore,the third chapter focuses on the analysis of the factors that affect the efficiency and transient response characteristics of the BUCK converter and the corresponding optimization methods.In the fourth chapter,the circuit design of the converter with fast transient response and high efficiency is proposed.In this chapter,the working principle and circuit implementation of power stage circuit and other key modules are analyzed in detail.The fifth chapter makes a detailed simulation analysis of the circuit proposed in this thesis.From the analysis of the simulation results,it can be seen that the circuit designed in this paper has the excellent characteristics of low output voltage noise,fast transient response speed and high efficiency.This design is based on TSMC 0.18 um CMOS process,the chip area is 0.627mm2,the switching frequency is 10 MHz,the input voltage is 1.8V,the output voltage is 0.9-1.5V,and the maximum load current is 500 mA.When there is only one filter capacitor with a size of 1u F at the output,when the output voltage is 1.5V,the load current jumps from 10 mA to 500 mA in 2ns,the output voltage undershoot voltage is 19 m V,and the 1% settling time is 0ns,overshoot voltage is 26.6m V,1% settling time is 1.52us;When the output voltage is 1V and the load current jumps from 10 mA to 500 mA in 2ns,the output voltage undershoot voltage is 41.4m V,1% settling time is 2.91 us,overshoot voltage is 32.3m V,1% settling time is 2.96 us.Finally,in terms of efficiency,when the output voltage is 1.5V,that is,the duty ratio is 80%,the efficiency exceeds 95% for a load current of 50 to 500 mA,and the peak efficiency is 97.6% when the load current is around 100 mA;when the output voltage is 1V,that is,the duty ratio is 20%,For a load current of 50 to 500 mA,the efficiency exceeds 90%,and the peak efficiency is 96.3% when the load current is around 50 mA.
