Facility layout is a reasonable and effective layout method for given equipment,which has the characteristics of practicality and interdisciplinary.Facility layout directly affects the logistics cost and production efficiency of production system,which is of great significance to modern manufacturing enterprises.This paper studies the layout of equipment loop in flexible manufacturing system(FMS).In the loop layout,the production equipment is arranged in a ring,and the materials flow between the equipment along the ring.Due to the different process routes,materials do not always flow in sequence,sometimes there will be reverse flow of materials,resulting in higher material transfer costs.First of all,this paper reviews the research trends of facility layout at home and abroad,puts forward the loop equipment layout of FMS,and summarizes the relevant theories and methods of facility layout.Secondly,aiming at the problem of the layout of the loop facilities,combined with the proposed assumptions,a mathematical model is established to minimize the material transmission cost.Then,by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the common methods of facility layout and meta heuristic algorithm,the bat algorithm(BA)proposed by Professor Yang in 2010 is selected to solve the loop layout problem.In order to avoid the local optimization and slow convergence of bat algorithm,Lévy flight disturbance is introduced in the random walk process of basic bat algorithm,and simulated annealing algorithm is integrated into bat algorithm to improve the performance of bat algorithm,so as to increase the global convergence,convergence speed and accuracy.Finally,MATLAB software is used to solve the algorithm.The simulation and comparison of the improved bat algorithm are made by using the classic data of previous studies.The results show that the improved algorithm designed in this paper can significantly reduce the cost of material transmission,which shows that the improved bat algorithm is effective and practical in solving the problem of equipment loop layout.
