With the rapid development of Internet technology,the popularization of mobile Internet and smart devices,the number of Internet users around the world has increased dramatically,which makes the shortage of IPv4 address resources become more and more serious.As a replacement to IPv4,the next-generation Internet protocol IPv6 has great advantages over IPv4 in address space,security,routing efficiency,mobility,scalability and so on,which provide users with more efficient safe,and reliable Internet service.Therefore,upgrading from IPv4 to IPv6 is necessary and urgent.CERNET is a pioneer in the development of IPv6 in China,and the IPv6 services on the official websites of universities are currently based on the CERNET environment.This thesis will conduct network measurement and data aggregation on the IPv6 support status on the official websites of universities,and make an in-depth study on the deployment progress of IPv6 in universities nationwide.At the same time,this thesis reflects the development quality of IPv6 Web services by comparing the performance and stability differences between IPv6 services and IPv4 services in the CERNET environment.This thesis proposes a highly concurrent network measurement method based on Nodejs and Socket programming.It uses multiple measurement methods to detect the IPv6 service status on the official website of 2688 universities in China,to compare the performance and stability differences between IPv6 and IPv4 that support Dual-Stack access nodes.Through analysis of multiple key indicators,such as HTTP average delay,HTTP delay variance,ICMP delay,ICMP packet loss rate,TCP handshake speed,DNS response speed,etc.,it is concluded that under the current CERNET environment,the overall performance and stability on the official website of universities under the IPv6 protocol is not as good as IPv4.In order to display experimental process and measurement results intuitively,this thesis uses Nuxt.js to develop a platform which is called "The IPv6 deployment progress visualization platform for the official websites of national universities".This platform includes functions such as data crawler,network measurement,data analysis,data visualization and so on.It uses charts,GIS visualization,nightingale rose chart and many other methods to aggregate and visualize information on the network quality,penetration rate and coverage of IPv6 of national universities.As the next generation Internet technology innovation project of CERNET,this platform will rely on C6IaaS cloud service platform provided by CERNET Network Center for a long time,to provide timely and accurate data references for those concerned about the current status of IPv6 popularization and the development quality of IPv6 Web services in the CERNET environment.
