In 1981,the United States reported the world's first case of AIDS.Since then,AIDS has spread worldwide,and as of 2018,there were more than 37.9 million people infected worldwide.In 1985,China reported the first case of AIDS.On August 2,1985,the "People's Daily" for the first time reported on the progress of scientific research on"AIDS",entitled:"American Scientists Make Progress in the Study of AIDS Virus".The issue reported that there was "stigma" in the early days.2003 was the inflection point for the People's Daily's AIDS report.This year,after the successful fight against SARS,Premier Wen Jiabao visited AIDS patients and shook hands with them on World AIDS Day.This move created a precedent for China's senior leaders to openly visit AIDS patients and strengthened public awareness of AIDS-Scientific cognition.Since then,with the development of AIDS prevention and control and the change of society's awareness of AIDS issues,the media's discourse practice on AIDS reports has also changed.The number of AIDS reports in 2004 has peaked over the years.This article takes a total of 15 years from 2004 to 2018 as the research period,and studies a total of 612 AIDS reports in the People's Daily.Based on the basis of text analysis,combined with the discourse analysis theories of Faircluff,Vatican,and others,the article starts from four perspectives:news discourse,power discourse,knowledge discourse,and human discourse,respectively.practice.In the first chapter,we analyzed from the characteristics of news selection:macro,typical and timely,analyzed the process of news discourse generation in AIDS reports,and found that the choice of discourse focused on pluralistic and rational expression.The second chapter analyzes the power discourse of the party newspaper.With the introduction of AIDS-related policies and the correction of cognitive biases,the People's Daily began to implement the power discourse through actions such as the improvement and implementation of policies and regulations,and visits by state leaders.No longer lean towards large numbers of reports.The third chapter expounds the presentation of AIDS knowledge discourse from the perspective of health transmission,and spreads health information through the spread of AIDS prevention knowledge and the progress of AIDS drug research.Chapter 4 highlights the reported humane care,which is reflected in the careful use of AIDS terms,respect for the feelings of AIDS patients and infected persons,and news comments highlighting tolerance and rationality.In general,the People's Daily's discourse on AIDS reports has faded,and humanistic discourse has continued to increase,in line with the needs of the political and social environment.The decline in the number of reports does not represent a decline in attention.At the same time,it will actively create a relaxed social public opinion environment for AIDS patients and people living with HIV,guide the public to take a more tolerant and rational view of AIDS,and spread positive mainstream values.
