The energy consumption of the network is increasingly becoming an important factor affecting the development of the network,so we need to reduce the energy consumption of the network in the network design;but reducing the network energy consumption can not be at the expense of network performance cost,so it is necessary to adjust energy consumption and network performance and achieve the balance of energy consumption and performance. In the traditional network environment, due to the distributed design of the network, the network energy consumption and performance regulation are complex and the energy saving effect is not obvious.Software defined network(SDN)can adjust the network structure flexibly because of the hierarchical and centralized control of the network.Aiming at the disadvantages of the traditional network, this paper puts forward for the first time in the SDN network environment from the network global perspective using dormant and heuristic algorithms for dynamic wide area network energy consumption and performance regulation, and define a new network evaluation method to adjust energy consumption and network performance evaluation, compared to the traditional network focused on the improvement of network performance, the mechanism according to user feedback on the performance of the network and the network status of the degree of concern of flexible and adaptive adjustment of the network structure,to ensure the performance of network and reduce the network energy consumption. At the same time, the mechanism is verified in the simulation environment. The results show that the mechanism is simple, low overhead and practical.
