Wireless sensor network (WSN) consists of a large number of sensornodes.These sensors have the capacity for wireless communication, sensing, dataprocessing.Physical information is collected by the node, after a certain processing, itis transmitted to one or more nodes. WSN can be widely used in military security,environment monitoring, traffic management, disaster forecast, health care and otherfields. In practical applications, the sensor node uses the battery with limited capacityand it cannot update easily. Once the power runs out, sensor node is not able to work.Based on the above reason, the energy monitoring technology of sensor network nodehas been the focus of the research in WSN technology.At present, we usually use the simulation method to monitor the energy.Fewmethod is used in practical aspects. Simulation method is conducted under a givenparameter,it has a certain difference with the actual situation. In the hardware aspects,the current sampling method of analog-to-digital conversion is hard to satisfy theneeds of monitoring online for a long time. Therefore,in this paper,we propose animproved method, to complete the test of the energy consumption of the sensornetwork nodes.The method of energy monitor is firstly introduced in this paper.The poweradjustment is used in this method to sample the electric current of the entire loop.Then,the hardware paltform of energy monitor and the software is introduced.The energyconsumption of the nodes can be monitored online via the web. The reults provide animportant reference to the study of the energy consumption of WSN.
