Low-carbon economy is a major trend of global economic development, and it is also a rare opportunity for China to realize the transformation of economic way.The realization of a low-carbon economy requires improved resource utilization efficiency and reduced carbon emissions. In human production and life, the carbon emissions from logistics and transportation account for a considerable proportion. Therefore, the optimized design of the logistics network is of great significance to the development of a low-carbon economy. In order to better optimize the logistics network,it is necessary to integrate forward and reverse logistics development.Reasonable location of logistics nodes is very important in the optimization of logistics network. This article focuses on the location of recycling centers in the forward and reverse logistics networks in a low-carbon environment. The main research works and innovation of this paper are as follows.(1)Through literature review on forward and reverse logistics network optimization and the location problems,we find that the existing related researches are mainly based on the location model with a single objective. There are only a few related researches considering the multiple objectives, which aim to minimize the transportation cost and maximize customer service. However, such studies do not investigate the forward and reverse logistics network.Based on the previous researches, this paper studies the location of recycling centers in forward and reverse logistics networks considering dual-objective.(2)In order to characterize the carbon emissions in the forward and reverse logistics network,we quantify the carbon emissions generated during the transportation of goods.Based on the traditional location model, this paper proposes a dual-objective location model for investigating the location of recycling processing centers in the forward and reverse logistics network. The two goals are the minimum carbon emissions and the minimum total cost(construction cost and transportation cost),meeting the requirements of economic and environmental goals at the same time. The dual-objective location problem proposed in this paper is more complicated than the traditional location problem, and it belongs to the NP-Hard problem.(3)In order to solve the dual-objective location model proposed in this paper, two algorithms are designed. For the first algorithm, the dual-objective is transferred into a single objective and then can be solved by LINGO 11.0 software. For the second algorithm, the NSGA-? algoritlun is designed.Taking the location of Dalian Automobile Parts Recycling and Processing Center as an example, the two algorithms are compared. From the perspective of the objective value,it can be found that NSGA-? algorithm can give better results.Namely, the NSGA-? algorithm has some advantages on solving the dual-objective location problem. Finally,we provide some sensitivity analysis on the parameters within the NSGA-? algorithm,in order to further verify the effectiveness of the NSGA-? algorithm.
