The global ocean area is about 362 million square kilometers,which is more than twice the global land area(about 150 million square kilometers).Different sea areas may have different degrees of sea ice at different times.For navigation ships or operating platforms in the course of marine transportation and marine engineering operations,doing a good job of monitoring sea ice information in the sea area concerned is the top priority to ensure the safety of shipping vessels and engineering operating platforms.Routine observation and research on sea ice information is mainly focused on the factors such as sea ice density,size,thickness and ice speed,which have a great impact on the navigation safety of ships.Sea ice density is a basic parameter for describing sea ice,so this paper studies the extraction of sea ice density based on marine radar images.In order to obtain more accurate sea ice density information,this paper implements the noise reduction processing of various clutters in the radar image based on the NLM algorithm,and then uses the preprocessed marine radar image to obtain sea ice density parameters.In the stage of sea ice density information extraction,this paper makes use of the different gray values reflected by sea ice and seawater on the marine radar image to perform image segmentation algorithm processing on the image.In the relevant algorithm research part of image segmentation,by comparing the OTSU algorithm(Otsu method or maximum inter-class variance method),K-Means algorithm and maximum entropy algorithm commonly used in image segmentation,the OTSU algorithm is used to perform image segmentation on marine radar images and carry out the research content of sea ice density information extraction,which is to ensure higher accuracy of sea ice density information while ensuring the speed of data processing.Based on the marine radar and according to the composition of the radar system and the detection principle,this paper proposes a research plan that firstly uses the NLM algorithm for preprocessing,then performs image segmentation by the OTSU algorithm,and then obtains the sea ice density information.At the same time,it also proves the unique role of marine radar in the research of sea ice observation,and provides a theoretical and practical basis for the use of marine radar for the follow-up marine environmental information monitoring research.
