XiHaiGu People On The Way Out Of Poverty

XIHAIGU is the name of the mountains in the south of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region.In 1972,it was identified by the United Nations Food Development Agency as one of the most inhospitable regions for human existence.The year 2020 is the final year of poverty alleviation in China.As an important battlefield of poverty alleviation in Ningxia and even in China,what profound changes XIHAIGU is undergoing.This is the core question that this graduation project tries to answer.PENGYANG County is located in XIHAIGU.In April 2019,with the approval of the government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region,it officially withdrew from the list of poverty counties.By the end of 2018,poverty incidence in PENGYANG County had dropped to 0.71 percent,respectively.The per capita disposable income of farmers reached 9,713 yuan,respectively.Taking PENGYANG as a research sample,we can effectively observe the path of poverty alleviation in XIHAIGU.To complete this project,I chose three townships of PENGYANG to conduct observation and interview,respectively,CHENGYANG,GUCHENG,CAOMIAO.Finally,I recorded two stories about individual seeking out of poverty through working in the city and beef cattle breeding respectively,and a story of one entrepreneur leading the villagers out of poverty through founding and running a brick factory.From the perspective of news,through the observation about the fate of specific characters,this paper tried to analyzes the achievements of labor migration,the development of beef cattle breeding supported by the government and the promotion of entrepreneurship in the terms of poverty alleviation.
