Study On SMIC's Strategic Path Selection Based On Key Success Factors

In this paper,through the IC development history in the world,industry models,industrial chain and center of gravity transfer history of the industry in-depth industry analysis,select representative of the United States,Japan and Taiwan,the development of IC industry,summarized the characteristics of IC industry development,this paper summarizes the factors affecting the development of IC enterprises,including external macro-environment,the degree of improvement of the industrial chain and various capabilities and resources within the enterprise,which can provide theoretical basis for the development direction and strategic patih selection of IC enterprises.Under the impetus of the national will,China has introduced a intensive policy to promote the development of the IC industry,the development speed of the IC industry has been greatly improved,but china still has a high proportion of imports,the structure of output value of all links is unreasonable,as well as the wafer foundry industry "two-headed outside" and other defects and deficiencies.TSMC,a leading enteprise in wafer foundry,has produced 7nm in 2018,and its advanced technology has approached the physical limit,and if there is no major technological breakthrough in the future,it will be beneficial for followers to catch up,while in the context of the trade war,China's IC industry has strong domestic replacement demand,which will further stimulate the vitality of local enterprises.SMIC is China's largest wafer foundry enterprise,while ranking fifth in the world,its current strategy takes into account technology research and development and customer relationships in the industrial chain and other factors.In addition to these two factors,there are other factors that SMIC should consider comprehensively,and SMIC needs to choose the appropriate strategic path for development after comprehensive analysis.This paper analyzes its external environment by using PEST analysis method,Porter five-force model analysis method,key success factor analysis method and strategic group analysis method,and because the economic development trend is not clear,SMIC is recommended to adopt a sound overall development strategy.Using A to confirm the key success factors,the three most weighted first-level indicators are innovation ability,human resources and synergy ability.SMIC has different degrees of defects in all three aspects,in combination with the external environment has changed greatly and SMIC's own resources and capabilities on the basis of comprehensive analysis,this paper put forward targeted recommendations,help SMIC in the future development to accelerate the development of advanced technology,and thus create value for all stakeholders.
