Due to the development of radar technology,radar-guided weapons pose a serious threat to the safety of combat aircraft.In order to protect the safety of aircraft towed passive jammers are widely used in modem electronic offensive and defensive warfare.The towed passive false target is to use the tow line to connect the aircraft with the bait fake target,and the fake target surface is distributed with a comer reflector array.The corner reflector has the characteristics of radar echo.By properly arranging the comer reflector array of the fake target surface,the radar scattering characteristics of the false target are similar to those of the aircraft,and the scattering intensity is much larger than that of the aircraft,attracting missiles to attack the fake target and protecting the aircraft..The passive towed bait has the advantages of small volume,light weight and less influence on the flight of the carrier,and can be simulated on the speed and track of the aircraft.Passive decoys are less expensive than active decoys and do not require a signal receiver and transmitter.Therefore,it is important to study the RCS of the towed passive target.This paper first introduces the research background of comer reflector,development status,electromagnetic scattering calculation method and so on.For a single trihedral reflector,the radar cross section is calculated by the equivalent method,and the radar cross section of the trihedral reflector is calculated by the area projection method.The maximum value of the radar reflector cross section obtained by the area projection method is compared with the value of the empirical formula to illustrate its accuracy.The RCS of the corner reflector when electromagnetic waves of different frequencies are incident is calculated,and the variation of the comer reflector RCS at different incident angles is analyzed.For electromagnetic scattering calculations of electrically large targets such as corner reflector arrays,the RCS is usually calculated using physical optics.This paper introduces the basic principles of physical optics and the calculation formula of scattering.For the physical optics method,the lack of multiple scattering is not considered.The iterative physical optics method is introduced,and the induced current of the target is calculated by the iterative formula to obtain the true value of the induced current and improve the calculation accuracy.A plurality of comer reflectors are formed into a corner reflector array,and the iterative physical optics method is used to calculate the RCS of the different corner reflector arrays.For the target of the coating medium,the RCS is calculated using the layering method.The radar cross section of the aircraft target is calculated.The target occlusion method is discussed.The specific judgment methods are given for different situations such as self occlusion and mutual occlusion.The scattering characteristics of the aircraft are analyzed to determine the scattering center.According to the radar scattering characteristics of the aircraft a comer reflector is placed on the surface of the towed false target,and the position and direction of the comer reflector are reasonably set so that the false target can simulate the radar scattering characteristics of the aircraft.
