With the continuous development of science and technology,Augmented Reality(AR)technology has a wide range of applications in teaching, entertainment, industrialization and other fields.Among them, industrial assembly is considered to be one of the most promising application directions of augmented reality technology.By presenting corresponding assembly information within the user's field of vision in real time,it can enable novice operators to complete tasks quickly, and it can also be used to assist operators in learning assembly process to reduce actual operating costs.Previous studies have confirmed the effectiveness of AR-assisted assembly, and using AR information assistance in different subtask stages can help users complete tasks better, but there are few studies about relevant factors affecting the performance of AR information-assisted assembly operations. The influence of the information presentation in the AR-assisted assembly process on the performance of assembly tasks and its cognitive mechanism are unclear.Based on previous research, this research is based on the task assembly model proposed by Stork et al.,which divides the assembly tasks into commission sub-tasks and join sub-tasks.It studies the performance of assembly using AR information under different information presentation methods. At the same time, the eye tracking data during the assembly process was recorded with the help of an eye tracker to analyze the cognitive mechanism in the task. This research consists of two phases:the first phase is to integrate AR-assisted assembly and eye movement data collection system, selected assembly tasks suitable for laboratory research, and design and construct AR-assisted assembly prototypes based on eye movement analysis. The system enables users to complete assembly tasks without obstacles while collecting behavior and eye movement data.In the second phase, laboratory research was conducted to explore the impact of AR information presentation methods on the performance of assembly tasks, including two experiments. In experiment one, task completion time and eye tracking were used as indicators, and the effects of different transparency of AR information on the overall assembly task and the performance of the two subtasks were studied.Experiment 2 uses a similar paradigm to study the effect of dynamic and static information presentation on the performance of the overall assembly task and the two subtask operations. This study draws the following main conclusions:(1)Under the assembly task and two sub-tasks,when the transparency of the information presentation is between 60%-80%,the task completion and accuracy are significantly improved.60%level of transparency can attract users' attention faster and reduce the time to understand the information.(2)Under the assembly task and two sub-tasks,the static information presentation is better than the dynamic information, the task completion and accuracy are significantly improved;under dynamic conditions, the gaze point enters the area of interest faster, but may bring additional cognitive load, takes longer to understand information.
