Assembly is processes that concatenate several parts of combine the number of parts and components with the technical requirements. Assembly is the last step of the product processing. There will be a huge impact to the product if there is a small problem in the processing of assembly. So the assembly is very important for the product. Augmented Assembly is a technique that applies the technique of Augmented Reality into the custom assembly. The technique can avoid the condition of the rework and save much time.In the paper, we use the based on the characteristics of the hand registration method and use the gesture to guide the assembly of the products. There is the main research work of the paper:(1) The traditional registration method is based on the mark plate. There are many disadvantages in the method, such as the registration is under restrictions and the interview mode is not good. Therefore, we use the characteristics of the hand to realize the registration. The method can complete the registration no matter what environment it is. With the method, we can use many kinds of gestures to interview with the computer. The method is more natural for the user. In the paper, we complete the real-tracking and detection of hands using the algorithm that combines the improved CamShift and the skin detection. The improved CamShift can capture the entire area of hands. We complete the recognition and describe of the hand feature points using the improved detection of curvature and K-MEANS clustering algorithm. The improved detection of curvature can improve the efficiency of the fingertip detection and the K-MEANS clustering algorithm can improve the robustness of the fingertip detection.(2) The method of the mix of virtual and actual reality is that binds the virtual model to the register features. One register feature only corresponding to one virtual model over a period of time. If we want to modify or replace the virtual model, we should do many operations. This is very complex. In the paper, we use the parameterization to complete the modeling. The new method can replace and modify the model quickly. In addition, we propose a method named gestures guide assembly that connects the different gestures to the corresponding motion to guide the component to complete the assembly.
