As an exotic product,Talk Show culture was officially introduced to China in the 1990 s.It was the integrated development of social politics,culture and economy,the advent of the mobile network era and the constant improvement of video platforms that resulted in the emergence of online variety shows.Among them,the self-made online talk shows stand out for their unique features,such as relaxed and humorous program style,novel and vanguard program content,etc.The self-made online talk show is a comedy language program developed in recent years in China,which is a relatively new research object in the domestic academic field.No relative theoretical monographs have appeared in the field of journalism and communication or cultural economics.It has only been slightly discussed in some big data platforms,academic papers and related works of the program industry.Therefore,it has become the research purpose and value of this paper.Based on the above background,this paper leverages the 5W theory of journalism and communication as theoretical foundation,combining 5W theory with the professional theories such as the Gatekeeper Theory,Use & Gratification Theory and McLuhan Media Theory,using literature research methods,content analysis,cases analysis and qualitative studies to divide it into six parts.The first part clarifies the research structure of this paper,combs the core concept of self-made online talk shows and explicitly illustrates the research method.The second part discusses the current development of China's self-made online talk shows,combs its development context,categorizes the online talk shows,then describe the characteristics of self-made online talk shows in the Internet 3.0 era,and elaborates its communication model with five elements of communication studies.The third part puts forward some problems existing in China's self-made online talk shows such as lacking of media literacy and sense of responsibility within communication subject,inflexible program topic,disagreeable bunch,single operation mode and the over-entertaining program content that can not meet the aesthetic needs of the audience,etc.The fourth part proposes solutions for the research question mentioned above,which is the major part of this paper.These solutions are raised under the foundation of five elements of communication,such as focusing on the professionalism of the communication subject,the spiritual value of the communication content,the channel development of communication media and the satisfaction of the needs of audience.The fifth part makes predictions about the future development of China's self-made online talk show.The last part is conclusion and it put forward the shortcomings of this research.The paper focuses on the theories of communication studies in order to present a fully logical research structure from an objective and professional perspective.Out of the author's genuine interest and respect for talk show culture,the paper hopes the research results can contribute to the development of online talk shows.This paper believes that the entertainment industry is beneficial to the improvements of cultural literacy and the reversal of negative and pessimistic lifestyles.The online talk show will gradually solve the current situation and shine brightly in the future of the online variety shows.
