Radar target tracking is an important part of radar data processing,which is widely used in military and civilian fields such as remote warning,battlefield surveillance,air traffic control,and civil aviation traffic.In practical applications,radar can not only receive the real target echo signal,but also receive the clutter signal and the interference signal that are not interested.In addition,the target motion state is complex and changeable,which brings great difficulty to radar target tracking,so that it is of great theoretical and practical value to carry out the research on radar target tracking algorithm.In this thesis,the target tracking technology of an experimental radar system is studied,and the target tracking system of the experimental radar system is designed and implemented.The main works of the thesis are as follows:1.Several typical target tracking filtering algorithms are studied.Considering the problem of target tracking in noise background,the Kalman filtering algorithm for non-maneuvering target tracking and the interacting multiple model algorithm for maneuvering target tracking are studied.Moreover,considering the problem of target tracking in clutter environment,the nearest neighbor algorithm and the probabilistic data association algorithm for single target tracking and the joint probabilistic data association algorithm for multi-targets tracking are studied.These typical target tracking filtering algorithms are analyzed in detail and verified by simulation experiments.2.Several filtering algorithms are studied to solve the problem of target tracking accuracy degradation caused by coordinate conversion error.The radar usually obtains the target echo signal in the polar coordinate system,and tracks the target in the cartesian coordinate system.When the measurement data are converted between different coordinate systems,conversion error can occur,which leads to the degradation of target tracking performance.To solve this problem,the depolarization converted measurement Kalman filter algorithm,the unbiased converted measurement Kalman filter algorithm and the modified unbiased converted measurement Kalman filter algorithm are studied.Theoretical analyses and simulation results show that these three algorithms can effectively improve the accuracy of target tracking.Specifically,the modified unbiased converted measurement Kalman filter algorithm has the best performance.In addition,the interacting multiple model algorithm based on modified unbiased conversion measurement is studied to improve the tracking accuracy of maneuvering target in the presence of coordinate conversion error.3.Considering the problem of target track management,a scoring method for optimizing track quality management is proposed.In the tracking process,the target maneuver and the failure of real target echo to exceed the detection threshold can degrade track quality,or even interrupt the target track.Hence,the track quality management method is adopted to evaluate the track quality of the target.The traditional track quality management method cannot adaptively adjust the track score according to the relevant gate size.When the target is maneuvering,it is difficult to correctly track the target.The proposed method can adaptively adjust the track score according to the size of the relevant gate,and has a better target track evaluation performance.The real data analysis demonstrates that the proposed method can effectively avoid the suspension and loss of the maneuvering target and enhances the track management capability.4.A radar target tracking system is designed and developed based on the QT platform for the requirements of joint debugging and target tracking processing of an experimental radar system.This system is an integration of algorithms including tracking filtering,track initiation and track management studied in this thesis.It can access the measured data and simulation data to facilitate system debugging and algorithm simulation.The target track information can be updated,managed,displayed and recorded in real time.The display of track information includes track images in polar coordinates and azimuth-elevation coordinates,the zooming in or out of track images,and the track information list.This system is of friendly interface,complete function,high integration and expandability.It can be applied to the joint debugging of experimental radar system and utilized to support the development of experimental radar system.
