Rapid development of ICT has strong effects on residents' activity and travel behavior.Cyber citizen are increasing sharply in our country so people's lifestyle has new characteristics.Based on this,the paper researches on residents' travel modes from fragmentation perspective,internet use is considered through the research as well.Three main points are researched.Firstly,classify residents according to their activity fragmentation characteristics,two-step classification method is adopted.Secondly,find factors which influence people's internet use by ordered Logit model.Thirdly,use multinomial Logit model to research on which internet related factors would affect residents' travel modes.Conclusions include(1)Residents are divided into 6 categories.They are the stressed,the optimistic-medium,the optimistic-sensitive,the unresponsive,work-fragmentation and the hardworking.(2)Factors which affect residents' internet use are different.For the stressed,it's age.For the optimistic-medium,they are education,weekly working time and income.For the optimistic-sensitive,they are age,engaged in manufacturing and income.For the unresponsive,it's net age.For work-fragmentation,they are gender,engaged in manufacturing,engaged in services,weekly working time and net age.For the hardworking,they are income and kid.(3)For the unresponsive and work-fragmentation residents,they prefer environmentally friendly travel modes if they usually spend more than 2 hours on Internet everyday.Residents who have well education background and usually spend 4~6 hours a day on the Internet prefer environmentally friendly travel modes among the optimistic-medium.Findings of this paper will benefit design and operation of transportation system and help transportation system to be much more efficient.
