Design And Implementation Of Shipping Container Online Booking System

In the supply chain of traditional shipping business,shipping companies establish an indirect connection with cargo owners through shipping agents and freight forwarders rather than face to face,which leads to the middleman between shipowners and cargo owners.It brings not only the high transport cost but also many problems such as wrong information,non-transparent information,asymmetric information and so on.In recent years,due to the recession of international economy as well as import and export trade,shipping market is down with serious oversupply,thus shipping companies should reduce the transport cost and freight fee,changing traditional management model to gain more chance and breakthrough.By means of researching domestic and overseas cases of shipping container E-commerce,the development of domestic Internet,and the gradual application of E-commerce in traditional industries.This paper studies new business model of the Internet,which is online booking and online payment through the combination of E-commerce and traditional shipping business.It not only reduces the high transport cost but also establishes the direct contact between consignors and freighters to get integrated supply chain management.In the deep analysis of the problems facing in the actual operation of shipping container business such as high freight fee,tedious payment process,being not able to track cargo status and so on,this paper studies the design and implementation of shipping container online booking system.Consignors can directly book online,pay online,print bill of landing and track cargo status and so on,which optimizes the user experience for the process and the efficiency of booking.This paper adopts SHH2 frame which is the combination of Struts2,Spring and Hibernate,as well as design method which is the combination of OOD and SD.It emphasizes the flexibility and extensibility by use of the loosely-coupled and highly-cohesive concepts with architecture design of logic view,technical view and deployment view.This paper gives us some detail on the function overview and technical implementation of three core functions in the shipping container online booking system.The function of booking online optimizes and integrates the traditional booking offline process,and decreases middleman in the traditional shipping container business,and reduce freight fee and digs potential customers to expand the market.The function of payment online improves the convenience of payment and speeds the efficiency of warehousing and picking through Web Service interface with Bank of China.The function of tracking cargo makes information more public and more transparent through EDI message to track cargo status in every important step for bill of landing in the container transport.This paper is based on the innovation for traditional booking offline business.Compared with it,this paper has the following characteristics:(1)Consignors can get information of sailing date,shipping line,available volume of container,estimated freight fee at anytime and anywhere.It not only makes information more transparent to consignor,but also expands the market for shipping company;(2)Consignors can book and pay online directly,and it is more efficient and convenient to book;(3)It is unnecessarily for consignors to surf on every website to track cargo status.Related information can be gotten on the system.It makes information more transparent and easier to get on time;...
