Ultra-wideband(UWB)pulse technology mainly studies electromagnetic pulse technology with nanosecond or sub-nanosecond pulse front,high peak power,relative bandwidth over 25%,and GHz spectrum.Ultra-wideband pulse technology has a wide range of applications,such as ultra-wideband radar,electromagnetic pulse generator,aerospace,hydroelectric power and other frontier technology fields,while playing an important role in the civil fields such as waste gas and liquid treatment,biomedicine and so on.In this paper,the development of UWB pulse technology is summarized.The basic principle,characteristics and related applications of UWB pulse technology are introduced.The basic theory of pulse power system is introduced.The characteristics,advantages and disadvantages of some power semiconductor solid-state switching devices used to generate high voltage short pulses are summarized and compared.Several common pulse generating circuit structures and pulse generating mechanism are introduced.In this paper,we mainly study the pulse generator circuit with Drift Step Recovery Diode(DSRD)as the main switch.The physical structure and electrical characteristics of DSRD are elaborated in detail,and the principle of ultra-fast recovery characteristic of DSRD is discussed.Based on this,a pulse generation structure which satisfies the two processes of forward injection and reverse pumping of DSRD plasma is constructed by using the opposite transient response characteristics of capacitance and inductance and the principle of bridge balance,in which the power field effect transistor is used as the pulse.Formed trigger switch.The simulation software is used to analyze the time domain characteristics of the pulse generator circuit,and the high voltage nanosecond time domain pulse signal is obtained on the load.The circuit is simple in structure and easy to realize large voltage amplification multiple.At the same time,the limitation of using DSRD switch to output high voltage pulse is analyzed.The insufficient voltage withstand value of single transistor,the obvious parasitic inductance and resistance caused by excessive series connection,and the larger size produced by DSRD switch affect the increase of output pulse amplitude together.For this reason,series-parallel connection mode is used to increase the use of switch to reduce the impact.Ultra-wideband pulse technology is a key technology which has been studied in many countries and has a wide application prospect.The development of this technology is of great significance to both military and civil use.The research results of this paper can be used in UWB radar,biomedicine,electronic microorganism,ground penetrating radar and many other fields.Ultra-wideband pulse technology is a key technology with wide application prospects.The development of this technology is of great significance to both military and civil applications.The research results of this paper can be used in UWB radar,biomedicine,electronic microorganism,ground penetrating radar and many other fields.
