Pulse power technology has been widely used in many military or civil fields.As one of the core technologies of pulse power,the development level of switching devices has a decisive impact on its overall characteristic.At present,most of the switches used in the pulse power system are gas switches,which have intrinsic shortcomings such as short working time and bad reliability,which limit the characteristic of the pulse power system.In recent years,the continuous development of semiconductor switching devices makes up for the weak points of gas switches and is considered as the main substitute for the next generation of pulse power switches.Among them,new semiconductor switching devices based on fast Ionization Wave mechanism have attracted wide attention because they can concurrently undertake high power capacity and repetitive frequency,and the conduction speed can be as low as sub-nanosecond.The Drift Step Recovery Diode(DSRD)has excellent performance in many aspects.Therefore,this paper plans to use DSRD as the core device to design the pulse generator system and optimize the output index and operation of the system.Firstly,the discharge theory of plasma disconnect switch is studied,and the work ing mechanism and characteristics of the new semiconductor power device DSRD are further elaborated.Two typical working circuits are proposed and their working mec hanism,advantages and disadvantages are analyzed.The circuit of the pulse generator system is simulated and analyzed.By analyzin g the working characteristics of GTX001 DSRD components,the simulation equivale nt model of DSRD is established based on TI software to simulate the real output wav eform of DSRD devices,and the validity of the equivalent model is verified by using DSRD simulation classical circuit;the bipolar parallel structure circuit design is adopt ed to satisfy the current requirements of DSRD operation;the working circuit simulati on model of generator system is constructed and analyzed.The influence of circuit pa rameters on the output waveform of DSRD pulse generator system is studied,and the optimal parameters are obtained by optimizing the circuit parameters.In the simulatio n work,the working process of each point of the pulse generator system is simulated a nd the working state of each point is confirmed.The pulse waveforms of pulse genera tor system based on single DSRD and multiple DSRD are obtained by simulation,and fine simulation results are obtained.A nanosecond pulse generator system was developed and its output index was tested.According to the parameters obtained from simulation,the generator system is developed;aiming at the problem of miniaturization of pulse generator,some modules are integrated and designed to optimize the layout,effectively reduce the volume and weight;the voltage waveform is tested at several measuring points,the overall working situation is analyzed,and the output characteristics of single or multiple DSRD pulse generator systems are measured.The results show that the output waveform amplitude of single DSRD pulse generator system is 3.74 kV and the pulse front is 8.2 ns;the output amplitude of multiple DSRD pulse generator system is 8.10 kV and the pulse front is 9.41 ns.After that,under the condition of load R=2k? and f=200Hz,it is determined that the developed pulse generator has good stability.
