Research On Social Responsibility Of Mainstream Media In Network Events

In recent years,with the rapid development of the Internet to provide more convenience and opportunities for society,but also triggered a series of social problems,the frequent occurrence of network events is one of the main manifestations.Network incidents have the characteristics of fast dissemination efficiency,wide range of influence,strong participation and interaction.They are easy to trigger,gather,evolve and accumulate social emotions.They have a profound impact on the public's social cognition,social attitudes,social emotions and social behavior,and thus have a certain impact on the maintenance of national ideological security.Based on the current situation of social development and social governance system in China,the author believes that the mainstream media,as a medium to reflect and disseminate the mainstream ideology and values of society,need to fulfill their social responsibilities and adhere to and guide the mainstream and the direction of social development.This paper analyses the connotation of media's social responsibility,and holds that the mainstream media should fulfill the responsibility of correct guidance,service provision,humanistic care and cultural prosperity in network events.From the study of the report text of "Yueqing women's killing by drip-drip windmill" by People's Daily and Qianjiang Evening News through micro-blog,micro-message and PC,it is found that the mainstream media have fulfilled the three social responsibilities involved in the network incident.The responsibility of humanistic care of the mainstream media in network incidents is not fulfilled properly.The factors that affect the performance of social responsibility of mainstream media are external environment factors and lack of measurement standards.Therefore,the establishment of evaluation criteria and norms is the main measure for mainstream media to fulfill their social responsibility in network incidents.
