This dissertation focuses on the localized design of game websites.However,the difference is that in the past,the research on localization mainly focused on the field of language translation studies.Nevertheless this dissertation hopes to stand on the perspective of design,on the level of website design localization.When designing game websites for different regions,taking into account differences in cultural preferences among different regions,countries and ethnic groups will further enhance the usability of the website.From the standpoint of culture,cultures of China and the Chinese region are quite different from cultures of other regions and countries.We can not simply and crudely localize the translation of language texts.Research on culture and usability is needed to help improve the usability of localized websites from the visual,behavioral and cultural perspectives and to make their products better accepted by the targeted audience.The theoretical basis of this essay is from Hofstede's theory of cultural dimension.Through the study of cultural dimension index,we analyze the national cultural types.And in conjunction with the related concepts of cultural availability proposed by Barber & Badre,we study the web design under the cultural difference.Different preferences and tendencies of users from different cultural backgrounds actually exist,that will also affect the user satisfaction of the product and operational efficiency.Localized products that combine local cultures also combine factors such as easy learning,high efficiency,and user satisfaction to produce user-centric,localized products.Starting with the analysis of the cultural dimension model,this paper analyzes the cultural models of different countries and conducts a comparative analysis,giving suggestions on website design for users in different cultural models.Through the study of culture,we draw a culture-based design model.Then for a specific geographical design practice,starting from the user to conduct a survey to obtain the relevant data.Culture is a large and relatively abstract concept.The study of this topic is not focused on the research of cultural phenomena.Instead,it aims to understand the localization of game website interface design based on cultural dimensions through the analysis of cultural models.Through understanding the classification of cultural models in different regions,the product can meet the target user's cultural preference and product psychological expectation from the initial stage.Analyze and summarize the related models of visual design,behavior design and concept culture design based on culture.Under the cultural background,design the interface of the localization product for the specific target area according to the cultural model.Designed to enable products to be truly local users,respond to local policies and user needs,integrate into the local culture.
