Abstract/Summary:
3D display is hotter and hotter,which can bring immersive feeling and a better visual experience.However,stereoscopic visual fatigue and discomfort will occur after watching 3D displays,which limits its own development.Motion in depth is one of the vital factors causing discomfort and fatigue,so it is meaningful to research that.We use motion in depth as stimuli to induce stereoscopic visual fatigue.The relativepowerofthreeEEG(electroencephalography)wavebands,namelyθ(4–8Hz),α(8–13Hz),β(13–22Hz),and three algorithms,which are:E(α+θ)/β,Eα/β,E(α+θ)/(α+β),are elicited in eight regions of the EEG channels and all the channels respectively.Therefore,there are 54 possible EEG indicators available to identify the optimal indicator for assessing stereoscopic visual fatigue.Finally,the algorithms Eα/βof Parietal is proved to be the best indicator by means of Paired-samples t-test,Grey Relational Analysis(GRA)and Support Vector Machine(SVM).Besides,θactivity remains stable over time.while,αactivity increases significantly(p<0.01)andβactivity decreases significantly(p<0.01)when in a fatigue status.We obtain two kinds of EEG signal from two distinct comfort levels of motion in depth,namely comfort and discomfort,when referring research of stereoscopic visual discomfort.A signed r2 is computed in frequency domain and time-frequency domain.And the accuracy of different brain areas and entire brain are also obtained using Common Spatial Pattern(CSP)algorithm and Support Vector Machines(SVM).We find that the EEG wavebandαandβin partial area are more active during stimuli time compared with rest time.And the biggest difference between two levels of comfort is presented withinαband between 1s and 2s after onset of stimuli.By classifying the features extracted from the EEG of each brain area,it shows that the accuracy of the parietal area is highest among all the isolated areas,the accuracy of occipital area and central area are higher than other isolated areas that show no separable feature.And the accuracy of all the channels is higher than any isolated area.
