Navigation radar is one of the active detection equipment on the ship.It plays an important role in ship observation,positioning,navigation and collision avoidance.The International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea clearly stipulates the configuration of navigation radar.The International Convention on Standards for Training,Certification and Duty of Seafarers 1978 specifies the ability of seafarers to use radar navigation.The Training Outline for Seafarers(2016 edition)issued by the Ministry of Transport attaches great importance to the training of navigation radar,which increases the training time.Navigation radar is expensive and costly to maintain.Simulators are usually used in seafarer training institutes instead.In this context,it is of practical significance to carry out the research of navigation radar simulation and design and develop a high-quality and cost-effective marine radar simulator for reducing training costs and improving training quality.The main work of this paper is as follows:1.According to the problems existing in the training of marine radar simulator,the radar operation panel is designed by selecting STM32F103RBT6 Microcontroller,touch switch,rotary encoder,LED lamp,buzzer and MAX3323 level conversion chip.According to the design scheme,the physical simulation operation panel of navigation radar is made and tested.The results show that the software and hardware design scheme is feasible.2.After analyzing the merits and demerits of three methods of radar cross-section prediction: moment method,geometric optics method and physical optics method,the improved method of physical optics,large-panel physical optics method,is adopted to estimate the radar cross-section of target ship.According to the actual ship size,the FEKO is used to build the ship geometric model,and the radar cross section of the bulk carrier model is calculated.Based on the detailed analysis of target radar echo characteristics,a target ship echo simulation method using radar cross section as criterion is proposed,and the pseudo-code of the method is given.The simulation results show that the target ship echo simulation degree of the method is very high.3.According to the knowledge of ship motion coordinate system and ship kinematics,the ship motion equation is deduced.Using PyCUDA,the "Mariner" is simulated by gyration test and Z-shaped test.The results show that the simulation of ship maneuvering motion based on GPU is accurate and efficient in the case of huge amount of target ship.
