The technology and implement could be carried out for ship remote control with the rapid development of ship automation, electromotor servomechanism and wireless communication technologies. In this paper, based on the large moving target ship reconstructed by a large civil ship, a Ship Simulation System for Remote Manoeuvring is designed and implemented. Researches on ship motion intelligent control algorithms have been done based on this simulation system.The Ship Simulation System for Remote Manoeuvring is based on the Virtual Ship Simulation System of Steering-Main Engine Integrated Intelligent Control. And the ship simulation system for remote control has eight parts. Aimed at schedule and communication for distributed simulation, a server is used to manage the relationship of the distributed simulation system. There are three modes in the simulation system, such as ship cab consol mode, software control mode and remote control mode.The system monitoring main parameters of ship motion and main engine is designed based on the need of actual ship remote control system. The remote video monitoring system is designed and implemented for the status of the ship could be observed easily at onshore station or command ship. Not only the parameters of the ship motion and main engine are observed, but also the real-time videoes of important places such as the cab and engine room could be seen in the remote control room.In this paper, researches on ship motion intelligent control algorithms have been done based on this simulation system. Taking the large containerships as a example, the input-output response nonlinear mathematical model of the fifth generation 5446 TEU containerships is built based on the real ship data, and a fuzzy parameters self-tuning PID controller is designed. The control process has been done in this simulation system, and the results show that the controller works in effect.
